Archetype: BiographyCharles Noel is better known to the world as Archetype. With several full length albums under his belt on Kalamazoo's Black Nation Records, and the U.K.'s Theory Records, as well as a slew of singles on Black Nation, Theory, Germany's Ongaku, Inkubator, and 77 Records, and appearances on numerous compilations, Charles Noel is no stranger to the international electronic music scene.
In 1995, under the alias Monochrome he is credited with releasing the first U.S. Drum & Bass record entitled the "Reconnaissance EP." In 1997 as Charles Noel switched his focus more and more towards techno, he released "Time Dilation Effect" on his own 2122 Corporation imprint revealing the Archetype alias to the world for the first time. Over the past 5 years Charles Noel has steadily released ground breaking and forward thinking techno characterized by unique off beat syncopation and a rich melodic sensibility. His recent downtempo and hip hop productions have caught the eye of the Good Looking Organization label head LTJ Bukem, who quickly signed Charles to his labels' roster of talent. The first release will appear on the Good Looking downtempo sub-label Cookin' Records with fellow Columbus artist M.C. L. Black. In addition, Charles has recently started 2122 Corporation sub-label Glyph, and completed his fourth tour of Europe, as well as a tour of Japan. ›› |
